Privacy Policy
Guts & Germs collects nothing. There is no account, no tracking, and no server.
The short version
- Guts & Germs has no accounts, no passwords, and no sign-in. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier.
- Guts & Germs has no backend server and makes zero network requests. There is no server anywhere that your Apple TV connects to while running the game.
- The game contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no third-party tracking, and no analytics SDKs whatsoever.
- Player names typed during match setup exist only in temporary device memory during the match and are never written to disk or sent anywhere.
- The developer cannot see, access, or collect any of your data, because none is ever gathered or transmitted.
What is stored on your Apple TV
The game saves only a small handful of local player preferences directly to your Apple TV's internal storage via standard tvOS preferences (UserDefaults). These preferences remain strictly on your Apple TV and are never uploaded anywhere:
- Audio volume levels: Your chosen music volume and sound effect volume levels.
- Last player count: The number of seats selected for the last game (between 2 and 6 players).
- Question difficulty: Your selected question deck preference (e.g. Standard, Kids, or Mixed).
Player names and character pawns chosen on the setup screen are kept in active memory only while a match is in progress. When the game ends or you return to the main menu, those temporary records are discarded. They are never written to storage or synchronised to any cloud service.
If the app is deleted
If you remove Guts & Germs from your Apple TV, tvOS deletes the local preference keys alongside the application bundle. Nothing remains on your device, and nothing exists anywhere else.
Network requests and external services
Guts & Germs is a 100% self-contained, offline-first party game. All questions, trivia answers, card decks, artwork, and audio files are compiled directly into the application binary installed on your device.
- No internet connection required: Guts & Germs does not require an active internet connection to play.
- Zero third-party SDKs: No analytics libraries, crash telemetry services, advertising networks, or social SDKs are included.
- No tracking: Guts & Germs does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies and does not access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
Children and family privacy
Guts & Germs is designed for family and group play across all ages, including children. Because the app does not collect, retain, or share any personal information from any user:
- It fully complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- It adheres to the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code) and UK GDPR / EU GDPR requirements for minors.
- There are no advertisements, no in-app purchases, no external web links, and no online multiplayer or chat features that could expose children to third-party contact or tracking.
Your privacy choices and statutory rights
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other privacy regulations, users have statutory rights regarding the collection, access, deletion, and portability of their personal data. Because Guts & Germs collects no personal data:
- Access and portability: We hold no data about you to disclose, export, or transmit.
- Erasure / Deletion: There is no personal record stored on any server to delete. You can erase all local game preferences at any time simply by deleting the game from your Apple TV.
- Sale or sharing of personal data: We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone for any reason.
Changes to this policy
If a future update to Guts & Germs introduces new functionality that affects data handling, this policy will be revised prior to that release, and details will be noted in the App Store release notes. The date at the top of this document indicates the most recent revision.
